汉语语法第一讲：Chinese Pronouns: 你我他 and Beyond

1. Singular Personal Pronouns: 你 (nǐ), 我 (wǒ), 他 (tā), 她 (tā), 您 (nín)

These pronouns are used to refer to individuals in the first, second, and third person singular.

你 (nǐ): You (informal) – Used to address someone you are familiar with, such as friends, family, or younger individuals.
Example: 你好吗？ (Nǐ hǎo ma?) – How are you?
我 (wǒ): I/Me – Refers to oneself.
Example: 我是学生。(Wǒ shì xuéshēng.) – I am a student.
他 (tā): He/Him – Refers to a male individual.
Example: 他是老师。(Tā shì lǎoshī.) – He is a teacher.
她 (tā): She/Her – Refers to a female individual.
Example: 她是医生。(Tā shì yīshēng.) – She is a doctor.
您 (nín): You (formal) – Used to address someone with respect, such as elders, superiors, or in formal situations.
Example: 您好吗？(Nín hǎo ma?) – How are you? (formal)
2. Plural Personal Pronouns: 你们 (nǐmen), 我们 (wǒmen), 他们 (tāmen), 她们 (tāmen)

These pronouns are the plural forms of the singular personal pronouns, referring to multiple individuals.

你们 (nǐmen): You (plural, informal) – Used to address multiple people you are familiar with.
Example: 你们都是学生吗？(Nǐmen dōu shì xuéshēng ma?) – Are you all students?
我们 (wǒmen): We/Us – Refers to oneself and one or more others.
Example: 我们是朋友。(Wǒmen shì péngyou.) – We are friends.
他们 (tāmen): They/Them (male or mixed group) – Refers to a group of people that includes at least one male.
Example: 他们是同事。(Tāmen shì tóngshì.) – They are colleagues.
她们 (tāmen): They/Them (female) – Refers to a group of females.
Example: 她们都是姐妹。(Tāmen dōu shì jiěmèi.) – They are all sisters.
3. Demonstrative Pronouns: 这 (zhè), 那 (nà)

These pronouns are used to point out specific objects or people.

这 (zhè): This/These – Refers to something close to the speaker.
Example: 这本书很有意思。(Zhè běn shū hěn yǒu yìsi.) – This book is very interesting.
那 (nà): That/Those – Refers to something further away from the speaker.
Example: 那个人是谁？(Nà gèrén shì shéi?) – Who is that person?
