汉语语法第八讲:连词 (Liáncí) – Conjunctions
Conjunctions connect words, phrases, or clauses, showing the relationship between them.
- 和 (hé):
和 (hé): This is the most common conjunction in Chinese, indicating connection or addition. It translates to “and” or “with.”
Example:
我和朋友去吃饭 (wǒ hé péngyou qù chīfàn) – I am going to eat with my friend.
我喜欢吃苹果和香蕉 (wǒ xǐhuan chī píngguǒ hé xiāngjiāo) – I like to eat apples and bananas.
Other Common Conjunctions:
但 (dàn): but, however
Example: 我想吃苹果,但我没有钱 (wǒ xiǎng chī píngguǒ, dàn wǒ méiyǒu qián) – I want to eat an apple, but I don’t have any money.
所以 (suǒyǐ): so, therefore
Example: 天气很冷,所以我穿了外套 (tiānqì hěn lěng, suǒyǐ wǒ chuān le wàitào) – It’s cold, so I put on a jacket.
因为 (yīnwèi): because
Example: 因为下雨,我不能出去 (yīnwèi xià yǔ, wǒ bùnéng chūqù) – Because it’s raining, I can’t go out.
或者 (huòzhě): or
Example: 你要喝茶或者咖啡? (nǐ yào hē chá huòzhě kāfēi?) – Do you want to drink tea or coffee?
虽然…但是 (suīrán…dànshì): although…but
Example: 虽然我很累,但是我还要继续工作 (suīrán wǒ hěn lèi, dànshì wǒ hái yào jìxù gōngzuò) – Although I’m tired, I still have to keep working.
如果…就 (rúguǒ…jiù): if…then
Example: 如果你来了,就告诉我 (rúguǒ nǐ lái le, jiù gàosu wǒ) – If you come, tell me.
